Hannah Stevens
she/her

I am a Photographer and Multi-Media artist based in London, UK.

At the University of Westminster, I studied BA Contemporary Media Practice, where I specialised in editorial photography and book design for installations.

A bit more about me...

Overall, my work focuses on the theme of empowerment, capturing the essence of each individual I photograph. As I navigate my own body image struggles and the complexities of reproductive health, I strive to create safe spaces where others can embrace their uniqueness, take a breath, and create something that reflects their true selves. Through my lens, I aim to show the beauty of individuality, showcasing the strength and resilience that reside within each person.

My work spans a variety of fields, including editorial photography, videography and exhibitions. I explore genres such as fashion, fiction, sports, behind-the-scenes (BTS) and events. I enjoy staying on my toes and experimenting with new ideas in different areas of the art world.

With industry experience gained from working in studios, professional settings, as well as personal and graduate projects (see full list of experience below), I excel in collaborative creative spaces. I graduated in July 2025 with a First Class BA Hons degree in Contemporary Media Practice from the University of Westminster, where I refined my skills across various areas of the creative industry, including photography, exhibition curation, editorial book design, film, VFX, animation and editing. I am fluent in Adobe editing software, including Photoshop, Lightroom, and After Effects.

I primarily use my Canon 80D and M50 to create high-quality work and I'm proficient with industry-standard equipment such as Canon, Bolex, ARRI, and Profoto lights.

Quotes / reviews:

"In 2024, we began filming interviews for ‘In Search of Elizabeth David’ – a documentary on the influential, reclusive food writer, which is due for release in 2025/6.  Hannah has worked on several shoots as DoP. Hannah is a skilled operator, across all technical aspects, and with a keen sense of which shot works. Hannah also has real grasp of the story we are researching and a calm, empathetic manner, helping put interviewees at ease when dealing with very personal memories of their friend, the late Elizabeth David. If available, we will be using Hannah for further shoots this year."
David Lancaster
Senior Lecturer, University of Westminster & Director of ‘Speed is Expensive’, narrated by Ewan McGregor

"It was a delight to include Hannah Stevens’ moving installation in both the Earth Day art exhibitions I have co-curated in 2025 as it speaks so directly and powerfully of the human impact and cost of failure to tackle climate change."
Pippa Catterall
Professor of History & Policy, University of Westminster, Chair, George Lansbury Memorial Trust, Editor, National Identities

"@hannahstevensdop doesn't disappoint!"
UWSU Womens Basketball

"I really just wanted to congratulate you on your show at Harrow Campus. I had the pleasure of viewing it yesterday, and I was really struck by the quality of the work that I saw. I know that a lot of effort goes into these shows, but the effort and hard work really does pay off. So, really really well done!"

Assistant Head (Art and Technology), University of Westminster School of Arts
